It has been a couple of months since my last donation because of a hectic senior year. After finishing my last couple applications and getting through exams, I was able to find some down time to get Wrapped in Love back up and running! To get the money for the next donations, I organized a few social media campaigns on Facebook and the gofundme page. Together they raised about $600 which was amazing! And just what we needed to donate to the next few hospitals. For my first donation, I picked the Roswell Park Cancer Center in New York. I chose this hospital because my grandfather was treated for a brain tumor there and had such a great experience. They were so good to him and I wanted to give back to show my appreciation. It was difficult to find the right person to get in touch with at first. I left a few different messages on general help lines, and eventually got in contact with Cathleen Allen, the resource center coordinator at the hospital. I spoke to her about the organization and she said the hospital would be thrilled to receive a basket. Due to my hectic schedule, I was unfortunately not able to deliver the scarves personally, but I did send them in the mail. When the basket arrived, Ms. Allen said it was amazing and would gather some staff to take a photo for the blog. We are still waiting on the photo and will post it when she sends it. The next donation will be the Bendheim Cancer Center at Greenwich Hospital!
