After I reached my goal, I went shopping! I started to research scarves and began to pick out the ones I thought would appeal to the broadest number of patients. I contacted my family friend to learn from her experience, and she sent me a few links to websites that she had used in the past. I had already found some of them, but others were new to me. It was important to me to get a wide variety of colors and designs because everyone likes different things and I wanted to make sure that I would be able to order something that would fit each person. I spent a lot of time looking through all of the options and came up with a general feature checklist for the scarves I wanted to provide. I wanted them to be 100% cotton, not polyester or rayon, so that if someone wanted to, they could wear it over their shoulders to warm up. I wanted them to be square because you can fold and twist a square scarf to wear in more ways than a rectangular scarf. I also wanted the scarves to be unique. On headcovers.com, I found a square, 100% cotton scarf that came in 140 different patterns. And BONUS! they were on sale for $16, so I was able to order fifty-five of them. Before I looked at headcovers.com I probably had looked at at least 15 other sites. It was really enjoyable actually, it was like I was shopping for myself. When I found the ones I wanted to order I actually say out loud, “Oh my God, that’s perfect”. I was BEYOND ecstatic.
